Sample Motion for a Protective Order in Response to Request for Production of Documents

Defendants are ordered to finish providing requested documents by a certain date, or file a motion for a protective order. Because of the effort required to produce all the documents, they can not comply with the order to produce, so they file the motion for a protective order instead. This motion cites CCP and case authority allowing the court to modify its order, and to give them more time to comply with the request for production of documents.
